Budgeting App

A data driven budget app.

What does that mean though? After using the more popular apps, I found a few notable issues:
1. Even with linking bank accounts, they lost context as soon as a transaction was made via a service; Amazon, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc. So, categorizing transactions became tedious
2. They cost too much. (Sorry, $80/yr is nearly Office money!)
3. After budgeting, I’m still left with spreadsheets for any deeper analysis

So, I set out to build something that could overcome these issues. Following the data-driven theme, I also found myself running simple projections to inform my budgeting decisions—wouldn’t it be great if that data and those tools lived in the same place?

Thus, I set out to build my own, and save money (but spend a lot of time!).

I’ll be honest, there are plenty of apps, spreadsheet templates, and all kinds of things that do this.

But I wanted a bit more.
